Can you go back to sleep when you get the boys to school?
In the summer I have to get up at 5 am to let the ducks and dogs out at first light. I am able to go back to sleep when I get back in the house.

I did go back to sleep when they went to school today cause I was dead tired last night, but my mind wouldn't stop and I was up until 4 am and had to get up at six. Ugh. So I slept until 10. Then I wrote some more prophetic dreams that came to pass in my book. Mostly layed around today doing nothing.
I am giving the rest of my tomatoes away. We have made so much sauce, bbq, spaghetti, ketchup and pizza sauce. There is about 6 ten gallon buckets to give away. one guy said he wants them, but if he doesn't show up i am just gonna put them on the side of the road with a free sign. if no one takes them, to the compost they go.

I am a light and picky sleeper so I understand. I'm sure someone will want those tomatoes. If I found a box of tomatoes on the side of the road, I'd sure scarf them up.

I usually sleep 10 hours straight every night. I must need it. My Dad is the same way, but my Mom and brother only sleep 4 to 5 hours of broken sleep a night.
I had two people take some tomatoes. I did up another batch of sauce today and some pears too. Still got lots of tomatoes left. I am gonna put them along side the road tomorrow morning. We live across the street from a church, so maybe someone from there will take some.

No one here eats relish. I put them along side the road and people took them. Today I gave two bushel of apples to the neighbors and three bushel to my Dad. Last week we gave six bushel to my husbands parents and we did up at least 4 bushel of apples our selves. There is still a ton of apples on the trees. Guess I will put them along the road, free for the taking.
I did think about making salsa cause my boys like it, but don't know if they would like homemade, maybe next year I will look for a recipe for that.

What !
No one.
That stuff is choice on a lot of things. So yum. Missing out on an explosion of flavours.

Maybe try a small batch of homemade salsa and see if the boys scarf it up. If they do, expand the recipe for canning. No way can we pick pears. Our trees are 40 to 50 feet tall. We have to wait for the pears to fall. By then the pears are bruised and most people won't want them. I just cut the bruise out and use the rest of the pear. I'm thinking of some hard pear cider.

hey Linen! www.gardenersworld.com/product-guides/growing/best-apple-picker/we use an apple picker to get our fruits. ours extends really long so it can reach really high. that is a good idea to make a small batch one day and see if they like it. my Dad turned his nose up when i offered him some pears today, then i handed him one and his first bite, his eyes got real big and he raved about how good it was. LOL. He took a bag home. hehehehe. I love it. our pear trees aren't as tall as yours. we trim ours every year. I would say our pear tree is about 20 foot tall. pear cider sounds pretty good. Im not good at making cider myself. I am gonna try some pear jelly tomorrow and some apple jelly and see what happens.

Why not pear pie filling? Apple pie filling.
Home grown pears are just as good as home grown tomatoes compared to the store bought ones.
Oh, yea, I forgot we have an apple picker on an extension rod as well. Our pears grew wild and were that tall way before we acquired this property.
Regarding the apple picker we stand in the bed of a pickup and use the picker. This year I don't need to put up any new pears. I've asked a few people if they want pears but they don't want to take the time to can them.
