Question on ghosts

I've wondered this too before. Because of universal law of free will, it would theoretically make sense. I've read mentions of it and it seems most accounts you read and hear about involve a traumatic or violent death.

It's a slightly disturbing thing to think about because I am sure no one ever has the intention of wanting to become a ghost. It seems most of the incidents always involve some kind of holding and hanging onto the event and failing to move past it and thus being stuck in an etheric state.
