9/11 Revisited – On 9/11 "some" heat source created enough heat to reach temperatures of 2,800 degrees F that were recorded deep under the collapsed rubble of World Trade Center buildings and was able to maintain temps of over 2,000 degrees F. That heat source would have to have been much greater, as the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics requires, because an object cannot become hotter than the heat applied to it and a heated object's natural transformation is to cool unless the heat source is maintained (such as a chemical reaction). Simple fires from office materials or even diesel fuel cannot create 2,800 degree F temperatures, especially buried under tons of rubble. Thermite, which burns in excess of 4,500 degrees (F) and chemically contains its own oxygen can attain such temperatures in seconds - and can burn efficiently even under water or in the oxygen starved environment deep under the collapsed rubble.
