FB, Twitter. They have censorship algorithm Nazis patrolling the boards. How can the word get out with a biased platform? (not having a go at you linen, just making a point). So what does Tik Tok got or doesn't. Data gathering and surveillance.

So what does Tik Tok got or does. Data gathering and surveillance. I'm aware of Tik Tok's gathering of information. Who doesn't gather information on the web? I don't frequent FB (other than checking up on family members incognito from time to time) or Twitter. Sometimes Twitter is used by other platforms that I will use. |

TikTok just gave itself permission to collect biometric data on US users, including ‘faceprints and voiceprints’A change to TikTok’s U.S. privacy policy on Wednesday introduced a new section that says the social video app “may collect biometric identifiers and biometric information” from its users’ content. This includes things like “faceprints and voiceprints,” the policy explained. Reached for comment, TikTok could not confirm what product developments necessitated the addition of biometric data to its list of disclosures about the information it automatically collects from users, but said it would ask for consent in the case such data collection practices began. The biometric data collection details were introduced in the newly added section, “Image and Audio Information,” found under the heading of “Information we collect automatically” in the policy. linkI may use tik tok for pertinent information, but I do not have a membership or post on it.

The TikTok spiral
Lauren Hemmings’s TikTok feed started like anyone else’s.
Short videos of families dancing, a comedy skit about the pandemic, baking cakes.
Like almost a billion people around the world, she downloaded the app for entertainment.
“It was more of an innocent hope of just getting a good laugh really,” the 19-year-old says.
As she scrolled through video after video, Lauren’s feed became darker.
The app would change the direction of her life and warp her perceptions of the world and herself.
