As we continue to grow, we can continue to change! For the better, and to make this an easier platform to navigate and contribute to. We have a few projects in the works but here are some main things I want to work on over the next week or two. Kudos to Yoda for these first few suggestions
- New emoji/smiley icons
: Just have to find something that works for these forums. Was thinking maybe just the default IOS emojis or something similar. The default smile icons on here are a bit basic and we could use some more variety for sure.
- New posts/threads feed on main page
: This is a good idea yoda suggested and I think it would help people find new posts and threads easier. This should be easy to implement as I think I have seen plugins that can accomplish this. Will look further into it and see what works best
- Google analytics
: We have enabled google analytics to further analyze where traffic comes from and to help us keep expanding traffic flow into this platform. Was having problems implementing it the past few weeks but today it appears to be working. This will help us figure out new ways to target growth and continue to expand growth here! This is also a full disclosure that we are now using google analytics. I had it setup previously but google locked access to my account since it did not recognize my computer. So it went unused for years even though it was enabled. Now it is fully enabled and I will be checking it regularly. It does not collect personal information but it does allow us to see how people find our platform and can help us encourage more growth.
- Light mode
: This has been an idea/suggestion for a while and while it would take some editing and changing I think it would be a good addition. Our default forum theme is a dark night mode since it works well for late night browsing. Some people have asked if we could do a lighter forum skin. This is entirely possible, while still keeping the default theme night mode. What we can do is add another theme, which members can then choose if they wish. That way, we have both a light and dark mode, for whatever people wish to choose.
- Other changes
: Some other small things need to be changed and tweaked. I am also always more than willing to hear from anyone about any suggestions or ideas they may have. I love doing what I can to make this a more accommodating and easy to browse platform. Please let us know if you have any further ideas we could implement or look into!
Thank you all and I am so glad to see the increased activity the past few months. I hope this is an upward trend and continues! It is so great to see like minded souls congregating and communicating. Love and light to you all!
